Site Design & Generative Tools
These tools are located in the lower part of the Project page. They allow you to define the constraints and infrastructure that guide the generative algorithm.
Road Tool
The Road Tool allows you to draw polylines to define the site's primary transportation network.
- Path: Defines pedestrian or bicycle lanes where vehicular access is restricted.
- Street: Defines road objects for vehicular use, typically with wider dimensions.
- Generative Impact: A road have the ability to divide one generative area into two, thus increasing the input precision.
- Auto-divide: Auto-generated orthogonal street networks can be created through the Parcel input panel.
Park Tool
Use this tool to designate specific polygons as permanent green space.
- Function: Manually drawn parks are protected from building generation.
- Metrics: The area of these parks is combined to calculate the total Park Area for the scenario.
Parking Tool
This tool is used to specify static parking areas that the algorithm must account for before generating additional parking. See Parking Tools for more information.
Restricted Area Tool
Define areas where no generation should occur.
- Use Case: Ideal for preserving existing buildings, protected natural features, or "no-build" zones.
- Constraint: The algorithm will not place buildings, parking, or roads within these boundaries.
Road Noise Tool
The Road Noise Tool is used to replicate acoustic impact from adjacent or internal roads. See Road Noise Tool for more information.
Generative Area
Any space within your site boundary not occupied by a specific tool (Roads, Parks, Parking, or Restricted Areas) is classified as Generative Area.
- The Algorithm's Canvas: This is the primary zone where the algorithm defines housing blocks, internal circulation, and additional green space to fulfill the density and programmatic goals you have specified.
